Men’s and women’s gold rings are usually high in value, as many rings–particularly men’s gold rings–are fairly heavy and often consist of 14 karats or higher.

14k gold is the most popular purities of gold available. Most gold jewelry is stamped with its purity, also known as ‘karats’. A karat is one part per 24, so 14 karats is 14 parts gold and 10 parts other metals. A typical European stamp on 14k gold might read 585, meaning 585 parts of gold per 1000, or 58.5% gold. Check if your jewelry is stamped with either: 14k, 14kp (meaning 14 karat plumb), 585 or even 583.

Gold earrings are commonly sold to us because they are easily damaged, or if one is lost, there is little use for the other. Gold is a heavy and dense material, so gold earrings are often small or hollow to make them lighter and more comfortable to wear. But that doesn’t mean they’re not valuable! Large heavy chains aren’t as fashionable as they used to be, so cashing in your unwanted gold chains makes more sense than letting them collect dust!

 Gold high school, college and university graduation rings have decreased in popularity over the years. Like gold chains, class rings are usually lower purities of gold such as 9k, 10k or 14k gold, however their weight does add up. You could potentially have hundreds of dollars waiting for you and not know it.

The gemstones found in class rings are usually common coloured gems that don’t have much market value. We typically remove gemstones or deduct their weight before purchasing your ring.
